Recipes | Tahini Cake

 

  • 300 gr Macedonian Tahini
  • 350 gr orange juice
  • 300 gr sugar
  • 400 gr flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon clove
  • 30 gr baking powder
  • 50 gr raisins
  • 50 gr chopped nuts
  • zest (grated peel) from 1 orange
  • 1 pinch of salt
 
     

In the electric mixer's bowl beat the sugar with the Tahini until the sugar dissolves. Mix well and add the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, clove and salt. Lower the mixer's speed, add the orange juice slowly until the mixture turns into a mash. Stir in the zest, the raisins and the nuts, after being covered with flour. Pour the batter into a greased and floured pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 180oC for 30 minute, then lower the heat at 160oC and bake for another 30-40 minutes.
